Swinging Johnson: This week Doug Upstone and render our school football selections on the Monday night game between the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals and I will deviate to dip our feet.

Doug, I love the Irish but youre leaning in this season-opening clash to the Cardinals. Aside from the place is it that you think Louisville could hang with the boys?
Doug Upstone: Yes IMO and a successful win, said a lot about the management of the Steelers and Titans. Lets move ahead to soccer, so will our recordings with this one and where the matches rely.

Scott Satterfield is in the big leagues and he has a team coming off of a dismal document this past year at which they went winless. This rebuild is akin to taking a hot air balloon and attempting to turn it into an F-22 Raptor.
While this may eventually happen, the issue is that Louisville is confronting a group which made it into the CFP last year and possessed one of the stingiest defenses in all of college football, devoting only 17.2 points within the regular season and going a perfect 12-0 till they fulfilled Clemson from the CFP semifinals. The offense was clicking on all cylinders also, averaging over 33 points per match.
So, my question is, how is a quarterback like traveling who is slow to release, designed to get some traction against a swarming Irish defense? Particularly when hes working with a coach and an offensive scheme that is entirely new?
Please, Doug, save me Im lost! I find no way, shape or form in which Louisville will be able to keep pace with the Golden Domers and I am desperate to handicapping expertise and the ancestral wisdom!
Doug Upstone: Well, Swinger, I am glad to see in your last sentence you are coming around to the sunny side of sport gambling, or youre simply being the same wise a** you are. Ill let the SBR readers that are making this is decided on by school football picks. Im the first to realize Louisville completely sucked and was, however, 1-11 ATS last year.
Just like he gave up around the Atlanta Falcons but coach Bobby Petrino was given up on by that team COMPLETELY. A new trainer brings a fresh attitude on making a statement, and this being a federal game, his staff will be sold by Satterfield. Louisville does need to trust the Irish will take them for granted and never have a lot of fight.
Let us also consider, Brian Kelly using all the gold and blue is only 10-13-1 ATS as a road favorite, also a mere 7-9-1 ATS when dishing out 20 or more specimens. This defense you said may improve as the season progresses but replacing five starters, when you dont/cant recruit like Bama or even Clemson, it will take time.
I was a bit facetious because although you have an handicapping resume, you miss the mark from time to time. And in this event, you happen to be shooting blanks because Louisville could be better but I would submit that they are coached by a Rhesus monkey and enhance upon their record made by an incompetent trainer like Petrino.
I know that placing nearly three touchdowns on the road is square biz for sure and Joe Q. Public never got rich by gambling the heavy road chalk, but on occasion the general public is right, and in this case they are. Until once we get down on our NFL Game of the Week, next week, lets see what happens on Monday when the Irish come prepared to squint at Louisville.
