Coco Gauff beats Kiki Bertens for first Top 10 win of career in Austria

Coco Gauff maintained her first scalp of her career to reach the Upper Austria Ladies Linzs semi-finals.
The 15-year-old American needed a lucky loser spot to get into the primary attraction but has obtained her opportunity superbly, and a 7-6 (7-1) 6-4 victory on the world No 8 Kiki Bertens gave her biggest triumph, by standing, of her first career.
Gauff, that had been guaranteed to split the Top 100 would be the youngest girl since Nicole Vaidisova won Tashkent in October 2004, to achieve an WTA Tour semi-final.
The success over Bertens implies that she will take to get a place in her first-ever WTA singles final on Andrea Petkovic of Germany.
Petkovic prevailed over Viktoria Kuzmova 6-4 6-1 to make sure she would be present in the previous four.
