England and Arsenal winger Beth Mead says there is no place for chants in soccer, in both mens or womens game.
Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-0 from the their first ever Womens Super League meeting on Saturday, but the event was marred by reports of abusive chanting.
The FA are exploring Liverpools asserts that director Vicky Jepson – together with the club in general – has been targeted from the United supporters.
United state they are conscious of the allegations and will investigate.
Mead is starting on Saturday with Brazil, also says the chants have been a topic of discussion among the Lionesses.
Its disappointing and we dont want it coming to the womens game, but theres no room for this in either the mens or womens match, Mead said.
It is very little minded of people do that and folks come for the love of soccer not for the dumb stuff coming out of peoples mouths.
I really hope its been proven and it doesnt happen again since it is not what us as players, staff or anyone wants in the womens game
