Giro d’Italia winner Richard Carapaz to join Team Ineos for 2020

Giro d’Italia champion, Richard Carapaz will join Team Ineos by the onset of the 2020 season.
The Ecuadorian and the team have agreed a three-year deal and adds to an already impressive stable of cyclists which includes Egan Bernal, Geraint Thomas and Tour de France winners Chris Froome.
Team main Sir Dave Brailsford – whose staff have won seven of the previous eight Tour de France names – stated:”He is clearly a great climber but also has great flexibility as he revealed at the Giro before this season.
”He’s still relatively young and I have no doubt that he will develop and enhance even further at Team Ineos.”
Before this year when he triumphed at the Giro, carapaz became the first riders from Ecuador to acquire some Grand Tour.
He said:”I am quite excited about joining the group. I think that this is a superb opportunity for me to continue growth and my development as a rider, operating year in, year out.
”I believe I’ll fit into this group race and well into my full potential within the coming years. I would like to attain some excellent triumphs to get Team Ineos.”
Meanwhilegrand tour winner Nairo Quintana is currently linking Arkea-Samsic on a three-year thing.
The 29-year-old Colombian, who won the Giro d’Italia at 2016 at the Vuelta and 2014, has also twice completed runner-up at the Tour de France.
